3 Stick Snare
Components of a 3 stick snare, 3 sticks of the same size, 1 small stick for trigger and 2 sticks with a Y cut for setting in the ground, cordage for trigger and saner. An assortment of pre-built snare cables and 550 cord, we used the larger cable for larger game such as wild hog. 
Cable can be substituted with snare wire or 550 cord. Setting the Y stakes in the ground in front of the game trail Both Y stakes are set, position one of the 3 sticks under the Y stakes Insert one of the 3 stakes in the ground as shown Position the snare cable, wire or cordage; note the cable and the trigger must be placed on top of the bait stick Set the trigger

Simple Loop Snare

Components, knife, 550 cord or GI type trip wire  Make the holding stick.Holding stick complete GI Trip wireFold the wire over your index finger creating a loop end, then twist the wire to create a loop as shown Once you have created the main loop, bend the loop over on top of the twisted wire to create  wings as shown  Then fold the wings over to create the loop eye as shown Then pull the remainder of the single strand wire though the loop eye to create the snare, doing this with wire also helps the loop from backing off once it is tight around the game animal  Place the saner in a game trail as shown Place the saner in a game trail as shown Warp wire or cordage around the snare stick and the stakes in the ground, once a small game animal hangs up on the snare and draws the wire tight, the animal is kept there by the stakes in the ground
